Retired Military Police Sergeant Francisco da Conceição de Barros, aged 53, died and a boy identified as Mailton Carlos da Silva Guara, aged 28, was injured after the car they were in collided with a pillar of the old toll booth. MT-235, in Nova Mutum/MT.
According to information, both were traveling in a white VW Saveiro, license plates from Várzea Grande/MT, towards Santa Rita do Trivelato/MT, when the driver possibly did not notice the speed bump, ran over it, lost control of the steering and collided against the pillar of the old toll booth.
The Fire Department rescued the victims and took them to Hilda Strenger Ribeiro Regional Hospital, Francisco was unconscious and Mailton was conscious.
Due to the severity of his injuries, Francisco could not resist and died in the hospital, while Mailton is under medical care, his current health status has not been disclosed.
Francisco’s body must undergo an autopsy examination and will later be released for funeral procedures.
The vehicle they were in had its front destroyed, the Civil Police and Official Forensic and Technical Identification POLITEC were at the scene investigating the cause of the accident.
